At The Cleansing Space Clinic, we often say that one of the simplest ways to feel better—both inside and out—is something you’re already doing.
Breathing.
It sounds almost too simple, doesn’t it? Yet the way you breathe has a huge impact on your energy levels, how your body functions, and how present you feel in your day-to-day life. And when it comes to treatments like colonics or body therapies, your breath becomes even more important.
Why conscious breathing matters:
Most of us breathe without thinking about it (which is a good thing—we’d be in trouble otherwise!). But have you ever noticed how your breath changes when you’re stressed, rushing, or feeling anxious? It gets shallow, high up in your chest. Over time, that type of breathing can leave you feeling tired and out of balance.
When you take a moment to breathe deeply and intentionally, everything changes.
You deliver more oxygen to your cells, which helps your whole body work more effectively.
Your nervous system calms down, which helps with stress, sleep, and mood.
Digestion and detoxification work more smoothly when the body isn’t in “fight or flight” mode.
In short, deep, slow breathing is one of the easiest ways to boost your vitality.
Breathing brings you back to the present
There’s also a mental side to this. When you focus on your breath, it’s almost like hitting a pause button. You can’t breathe in the past or the future—you can only breathe right now.
So those moments where you stop and take a slow inhale and exhale? They help you feel grounded, clear, and present.
How your breath supports your treatments:
You might have heard us talk about the importance of breathing during your sessions. Whether you’re here for colonic hydrotherapy or one of our body treatments, conscious breathing can make a big difference:
- It helps you relax. Deep breaths tell your body it’s safe to let go, which makes the treatment more comfortable.
- It assists release. Long exhalations support the body’s natural process of cleansing—physically and emotionally.
- It boosts circulation. More oxygen means better blood flow, which enhances the benefits of massage and other body work.
When you work with your breath during a session, it’s like giving your body a helping hand.
Try this simple breathing exercise
- Here’s a practice you can use at home or during your next visit:
- Inhale slowly through your nose for six counts.
- Hold for a gentle four counts.
- Exhale slowly through your mouth for six counts.
- Repeat for a few minutes and notice how much lighter you feel.
At The Cleansing Space Clinic, we see breath as a partner in your wellness journey. So next time you come in, take a moment to breathe with intention. You’ll not only enhance your session—you’ll leave feeling calmer, clearer, and more energised.
It all starts with one deep breath.
